OUR MISSION

The New York Language Center has two goals: To provide high quality, affordable English courses to international students in a supportive, friendly atmosphere where students come first, whether they are seeking academic, professional, or personal improvement, and they are expose American culture. At the same time, we are committed to providing immigrant New Yorkers with ESL courses that address their needs and prepare them to be part of the society in which they live, work and raise their children. The New York Language Center curriculum is designed to support this mission by providing students with the language tools they need to help them achieve their goals. The New York Language Center is committed to top performance and service at the highest level.

 

PLAN OVERVIEW

The NYLC undergoes a comprehensive review every three years. This review covers the following elements of the program: Mission, Financial Resources, Student Service, Human Resources, Physical Establishment, Administrative Procedures and Operating Policies, Marketing, and Recruitment and Review of the ESL Program. Any student, faculty, or staff member wishing to contribute to this plan can contact the Executive Director.

WELCOME TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SINCE 1985

The New York Language Center strives for excellence in all aspects of our program. This will help ensure that you have a good time with us. Not only will you make friends from all over the world, you will receive excellent instruction, partake in exciting activities and enjoy our wonderful city! Our courses are designed for you.

 

CERTIFICATION

NYLC - Midtown, Upper West Side (Broadway) and Jackson Heights are accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of English Language Programs (CEA) for the period April 2019 through April 2029, and NYLC is committed to the CEA standards for English language programs and To comply with institutions.

To be accredited, the New York Language Center must demonstrate that it complies with all CEA standards, including areas such as administration, academics, faculty, student services, etc.

CEA accreditation ensures that NYLC students are enrolled in a quality ESL program. However, if a student is dissatisfied with the services the school is providing or believes the school is not up to standards, they can file a complaint with CEA.

The New York Language Center is certified as an English Language School by the New York State Education Department. It is also authorized by the U.S. Department of Immigration to enroll non-immigrant foreign students.

 

CODE OF ETHICS

The New York Language Center must adhere to the school's mission at all times.

The New York Language Center must adhere to ethical standards in all business practices. This means always offering a quality product, treating customers with respect, making refunds on time and reimbursing amounts due. This means that you will never "cheat" a customer or tell them they are getting a service if they don't. The New York Language Center must always engage in legal practices as defined in local, state, and federal laws. The New York Language Center must adhere to guidelines set by its regulators. The New York Language Center must treat all employees fairly and with respect. Employees must treat each other equally. The New York Language Center must not engage in business practices outside of its mission unless the mission changes.
